A ruling by the US Court of Appeals previous year led to the release of over 2,000 previously sealed documents in Giuffre's defamation lawsuit against Maxwell.
According to Giuffre's deposition, she alleges that Maxwell recruited her "for the objective of being trafficked" while she was working at U.S. President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. According to her testimony, she was instructed to have sex with several notable figures, including Prince Andrew.
The documents also contain a transcript deposition given by Epstein's main accuser, Giuffre, who has also made allegations against Prince Andrew.
Maxwell wrote to Epstein that she would "appreciate" if a woman named "Shelley" would "come out and say" she had been Epstein's girlfriend. "That's their term for it", Giuffre said. "And again, it's impossible to know how many".
The suit, which was filed in 2015 by alleged victim Virginia Giuffre, accused Maxwell of exploiting and lying about Giuffre while she was being sexually abused by Epstein.
"Deciding to participate in or contribute to a criminal investigation or prosecution is a far different matter than simply making a public statement "relating to" Ms. Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein, particularly since such a statement might have occurred decades ago and have no relevance to the charges in this case".
Maxwell, the daughter of late newspaper baron Robert Maxwell, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking minors for Epstein, who she was intimately involved with in the 1990s. They couldn't be black, ' Giuffre replied. "There were blondes, there were brunettes, there were redheads". 'If they were any other descent other than white, they had to be exotically handsome. "Therefore, based on those lies I can not speculate on what anybody else did or didn't do. everything she said is false".
Giuffre claimed that all of the girls were "beautiful, tall, some were blonde, some were sandy brown". The Second Circuit Court of Appeals in NY hasn't ruled on her request.
"Ghislaine, myself, Jeffrey, another girl in this blue, outdoor - I don't know what you want to call it. Cabana, that ... just a bed could fit in", she said of one sexual encounter. Maxwell's 11th-hour request to block the documents from being released to the public was denied by federal Judge Loretta Preska.
"And when they say massage, that means erotic, okay?" Giuffre added. "That's their code word". They point to errors in her recollection as proof. A few weeks earlier, Maxwell had publicly lashed out at Giuffre's claims, and Epstein seems to suggest Maxwell should distance herself from him.
"On August 10, 2019, Epstein died in federal custody, and the media focus quickly shifted to our client - wrongly trying to substitute her for Epstein - even though she'd had no contact with Epstein for more than a decade", lawyers Mark Cohen and Jeffrey Pagliuca claimed.
According to the documents, Maxwell had remained in close contact with Epstein through email.
"You have done nothing wrong and I would urge you to start acting like it", Epstein wrote in January 2015, as more allegations of sexual abuse against him surfaced.
