I know, it's been a WHILE since we've seen anything from Rocksteady (with 2015's Batman Arkham Knight). The studio has confirmed on their social networks that they will be at the event to present their next project and that it will be a Suicide Squad game in which, from what we can see in its first promotional image, we will have the presence of Superman. As is obvious, these reports were true. However, people still have to wait a bit for the full announcement, which will arrive during the 24-hour long, August 22, 2020 DC Fan Dome.
The image, which appears to depict either Superman or his mirror image Bizarro, is accompanied simply by the words "target locked". A crosshair that reads Suicide Squad is placed over top the Man of Steel's head. Previously, we have talked about the domain registration made by Rocksteady, which secured Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad. Hopefully it takes after things like the excellent Secret Six crossover run and not 2016's Suicide Squad movie. They then shared multiple links to their social media platforms for the upcoming Suicide Squad game on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Discord.
We could have an evil Superman here, which is something that will be more in line with what Snyder had planned with his 5-movie arc in the DCEU.
If you're interested in the Batman: Arkham games, the entire trilogy with a bunch of add-ons is on sale in the PlayStation Store right now for just $15.
It's worth noting that these remarks may not represent experiences the actual game delivers. Comic book fans could have two never-ending superhero games in the pipeline - one from Rocksteady Games and one from Crystal Dynamics. Although initially slated to get a 25th June 2021 launch, delays brought on by coronavirus have pushed this back to 1st October 2021.
Though it's still a couple weeks away, DC FanDome is shaping up to be one hell of an event.
