Twenty-two people have died in California since early August, and one person has been killed in Washington state. The Democratic governors of all three states say the fires are a effect of the climate crisis, taking aim at President Trump ahead of his visit on Monday to California for a fire briefing.

Applegate says the fires are a "huge emotional toll" on the staff but they are balancing out the management of critical patients and making sure they can stay stable themselves.
Warnings of low moisture and strong winds could fan the flames in hard-hit southern OR to Northern California and last through Tuesday.
CBS News correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti reports the thick smoke is creating some of the world's worst air quality levels in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland, spreading unhealthy air conditions from Canada to Southern California.
