Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek has offered a peek into his villainous character of Safin in the upcoming James Bond adventure, No Time To Die, in the latest trailer of the film released on Monday. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with risky new technology.
"No Time To Die", starring Daniel Craig as 007, hits theaters on November 20.
Meanwhile, director Cary Joji Fukunaga says that not only does Safin pose a personal challenge to Bond, but he is also a threat on a global scale.
Rami Malek's character is named Safin and in his words, the character is "unsettling". A new No Time to Die featurette focuses on Safin, with Malek and director Cary Joji Fukunaga talking about how unsafe and scary this mask-wearing bad guy is. "James Bond has to adapt to him", Malek added, without giving away too much.
At one point in the dark video, we watch as Safin stands on a frozen lake, above a man who is trapped beneath the ice, and then, just for good measure, wildly shoots his gun at him.
"We understand that Safin is following" revenge", a guy who's" likely to kill countless".
The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and stars Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, with Jeffrey Wright, with Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes as "M". It also brings back Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Jeffrey Wright as Central Intelligence Agency agent Felix Leiter.
