The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation in the drug angle of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case has landed several A-listers such as Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor in trouble.
Both the actors have reached the NCB office in south Mumbai and their questioning is already on. Now Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde has claimed that the actress didn't name anybody in her statement regarding the drug links in Bollywood. The actress was called in for questioning at 12:30 pm.
The Narcotics Bureau had earlier arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was reportedly dating Sushant Singh Rajput at the time of his death in connection with the drugs case.
Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash was questioned on Friday. The party began at around 3pm and continued till early hours of the next day.
However, the actress denied consuming any drugs. He added, "No further summons have been sent to anyone today". She was questioned for about four hours. Deepika and Karishma were confronted about the drug chats at the NCB office.
Kapoor and Khan, daughters of famous Bollywood actors, are also expected to appear before the NCB on Saturday. Those are the Big fish that swim away unquestioned. Thereafter, yesterday, when Kshitij Prasad, who is an employee of Dharma Productions, was detained by the NCB, Karan Johar broke his silence and issued a statement on social media denying that any narcotic substance was consumed during a party that he hosted in 2019.
Chakraborty and her brother Showik are now in jail in Mumbai.
Jaya Saha has also been questioned by the drug probe agency.
On being asked about what the actors were quizzed about, Jain said, "Details of investigation can not be disclosed, however, their recorded statements will be placed before the court tomorrow morning".
