Manuel Margot smacked a three-run homer in the first inning as the Rays doubled up the Astros 4-2 in Game Two of the American League Championship Series in San Diego.
The Tampa Bay Rays are just two wins away from reaching the World Series.
Ryan Yarbrough will start Game 3 of the ALCS on Tuesday against the Astros. The Astros' offense exploded during the series against Oakland, scoring 33 runs and hitting for a.345 average. (0-1) struck out 11 in seven innings. Urquidy started game two of the ALWCS and held the Minnesota Twins to two hits and one earned run in 4.1 innings pitched.
Rays pitcher Charlie Morton described this play as "unbelievable". He allowed five hits, one walk and one hit batter while striking out five.
"No one has forgotten what they have done or chose to do in years past", Tampa Bay outfielder Kevin Kiermaier said. The Astros fumbled the third out of the inning at first base after a bad Jose Altuve throw. "Manny's really turned it on with the home run - I think he's got now three just huge home runs here in the post-season".
The Astros had runners in second and third base, making this play the game-saver. Margot made them pay. Houston has outhit the Rays, 19-10, but has left 38 men on base through the first two games.
"In all the time I played here, I never played right field", he said. Margot contended with the sun to make the catch as he flipped over the railing. They finally got on the board with one out in the sixth inning when Correa pounced on a 1-0 fastball from Fairbanks and sent it 438 feet over the fence in center.
The Tampa Bay Rays have some champions in their corner.
Houston was close to taking over the game during the ninth inning.
