As India's coronavirus case tally crossed the 70 lakh-mark, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked the government over the handling of COVID-19 situation, saying it is a case study on how not to react to a pandemic.
Singapore has so far classified 1,132 of the reported cases as imported, 2,260 as community cases, and 54,484 involving dorm residents.
Singapore has confirmed four new cases of Covid-19, all of them imported, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a press release today.
"Presently, the active cases stand at 8,93,592 and comprise merely 12.94 per cent of the total positive cases of the country, demonstrating a steady falling percentage of the total cases", the Ministry said.
Previously, the last patient to die here from Covid-19 related complications was a 62-year-old man on July 14, almost three months ago.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 1,072,978 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 37,215,572, according to Johns Hopkins University.
"The milestone of a million tests reflects a sustained team effort", Dr Bloomfield said.
"Each one of those tests has contributed to our knowledge about the virus and its prevalence in New Zealand".
Two of the new cases arrived from South Africa via Dubai on September 29.
She had been identified as a contact of two other cases and had been placed on quarantine earlier.
While the recovery rate is at 85.52 per cent, the fatality rate is 1.54 per cent, the Health Ministry data said.
