Hard to trust the previous movie Clooney was 2016's MONEY MONSTER although not only is that he starring THE MIDNIGHT SKY but he is back behind the camera to the job too. Clooney, meanwhile, is in a "last man on Earth" situation, trapped in an arctic research station with a tiny, cute little girl who the internet immediately began to theorize must be a figment of his imagination.
George Clooney always picks interesting projects to direct, and this is no exception. But in order to save what's left of humanity, Clooney must fearless the apocalyptic wasteland of Earth to send a message to the Aether. Apparently, there's been a worldwide catastrophe, and they will be safer out in space.

Netflix released today (27) the trailer for Midnight Sky, a space drama directed and starred by George Clooney.
Regardless, The Midnight Sky features a fairly impressive ensemble cast, including Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demian Bichir and Tiffany Boone. The screenplay is also by Mark L. Smith, who co-wrote Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant. The film is due to be released on Netflix on 23 December, known around my house as Christmas Eve-Eve, and frankly doesn't look all that cheery.
The actor plays Augustine (Clooney), a lonely scientist living in the Arctic, as he tries to contact astronaut Sully (Felicity Jones) on the spaceship Aether to prevent her crew from returning home to a post-apocalyptic Earth.
