Confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in MI, with 2,367 new cases reported on Tuesday.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has also said private gatherings in the Lower Mainland are the main driver of the rising COVID-19 case count in B.C.
None of the new cases are in the Northern Health region.
Additionally, there have been 88 cases of COVID-19 in B.C. of people who reside outside of Canada.
School exposures have also been identified at Kelowna Secondary School and St. Joseph Elementary School in Kelowna. Two of the three deaths have been connected to an outbreak among residents of Avalon Health Care San Andreas.
Across the state, there was a 27% increase in the number of people hospitalized because of the virus over the past week.
Dr. Elizabeth Brodkin said it's fine to take children trick-or-treating in a safe way or get together in a restaurant with a safety plan in place, but people should refrain from gathering in homes. British Columbia's COVID-19 death toll remains at 259.
"As a result, the expectation is that masks will be worn within public areas of health-care facilities, shopping malls, grocery stores, community centres and other public spaces - as you enter, exit and move around".
In the US, there are 8,755,581 cases, and there have been 226,383 deaths - while 3,460,455 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
