The virtual world is dubbed "The City" on new consoles, and features entry-level basketball and NPC quest - givers and four competing factions dealing with the game's lifestyle and basketball culture.

Publisher and developer 2K has announced that National Basketball Association 2K21 will have a next-generation version of "The Park" called "The City", which is a map much bigger than previous Neighborhoods. A new Courtside Report arrived on Wednesday (November 4), announcing National Basketball Association 2K21 The City details.

The City will be broken up across a number of key features, each promising to offer different experiences.

Garage Hoops - Scattered throughout The City where players can shoot hoops whenever they want.

Boroughs: Split into four, it is where the four Affiliations have dedicated space.

Event Center - Located at the center of the City where all The City events happen. Players passing by can also join in, either for a casual shoot around, or for a casual game of 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or HORSE.

Better still, The City will support hundreds of MyPLAYERs at once.

People of The City - NPCs of The City.

There will be a Fireball as part of Affiliations, to represent a team having won 10 games in a row. They'll play their next game using a ball that is literally engulfed in flames, making for a sight to behold. As mentioned in 2K's report, it will cause other ballers to gather around to watch that Affiliation play. Pink Diamond Plaza will be decked out in fluorescent lights and with music orchestrated by a resident DJ, Pink Diamond Plaza hosts the entirety of the MyTEAM Triple Threat Online experience.

As mentioned, 2K fans will be quite excited by the return of Affiliations for National Basketball Association 2K21 Next-Gen's The City. The fans have asked for a while now. The north, south, east and west of The City is controlled by the Knights, Vipers, Beasts and Wildcats respectively, and players are assigned to a faction once they've reached Pro 1 in Rookieville. Each Affiliation will have its own borough with unique court locations.

Event Center: A brand new addition, the Event Center is where Events will be held, and intra-Affiliation events will be held as well.

The game's official website says that the return of Park Affiliations is bigger and that next-gen consoles have allowed the team to finally realise their ultimate vision for the feature.

They will also have responsibility for designing courts for their borough, and they will also design the uniform that sets their Affiliation apart from others. At the end of the Rival Day Conquest, the four Affiliations are ranked based on their scores.
