Though the daily number of tests has touched nearly 15 lakh once, it normally has remained in the range of 11 to 13 lakh on the weekdays for the last more than three months.

Addressing an online media briefing, Kejriwal said the Delhi government has sent a proposal to Lt Governor Anil Baijal to allow only 50 people to attend wedding functions against the earlier limit of 200. Yesterday, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had a meeting with the home minister.
As for Delhi's paucity of doctors - partly as a result of many healthcare workers getting COVID-19 due to their high-risk working conditions - the home ministry has resolved to re-designate doctors from the central paramilitary forces.
He said, "To save the lives of the citizens of Delhi and for the health of the citizens it is the time when all the governments should work together". The rising cases in Delhi has eased the attention on Kerala somewhat, but the state is still reporting a large number of cases every day.
The country's COVID-19 tally reached 88,74,291 including 4,53,401 active cases and 82,90,371 recoveries. "Right now we have a sufficient amount of Covid beds in Delhi but the scarcity is with the ICU beds". 250 beds will be made available on Monday, followed by 250 on Tuesday and remaining 250 on Wednesday. "The central government has also ensured that they will provide BiPAP machines to the Delhi government hospitals by which we can also set up more ICU beds for the Covid patients".
"Around 60,000 tests are being conducted daily". And, even with reduced numbers, Delhi remains the highest contributor of cases in the country. Beds with oxygen facilities are also going to be increased.
Even as another 96 people died of COVID-19 in Delhi in the past 24 hours (until Sunday night), taking the national capital's overall toll to 7,519, the Centre has chose to increase testing for the novel coronavirus and the availability of ICU beds and doctors for the city's patients.
In the meeting with the Home Minister, the Delhi Chief Minister has also asked for cooperation from the Central government to tackle the pandemic.
Delhi has also been struggling to breathe with the typical air pollution during the winter, fed by point sources within the city, seasonal wind patterns and significantly more farm fires in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
