New Mexico Reports 2107 New COVID-19 Cases and 28 More Deaths

The state Department of Health has reported 141,260 cases and 2,619 deaths as of Saturday, which is the most recent data available. Five of those nine deaths are reportedly associated with a long term care facility.

Two more people have died from complications brought on by COVID-19 in Manitowoc County.

This comes after last week concluded with 334 cases, the second-highest weekly total recorded since the pandemic began.

The percentage of recovered cases is 63 percent statewide. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate - the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 as compared to the number of tests administered - was at 2.5% Monday.

On Wednesday, Pennsylvania joined California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Texas as the first states to hit the 10,000 fatality mark, according to The Covid Tracking Project. This is an increase of over 800 cases in one week. It includes expediting supply procurement and lifting certain regulations to allow for efficient and effective mitigation. A community outbreak is defined as three or more COVID-19 cases in a setting and in people of different households over the past 14 days.

Health officials said statewide percent positivity for the week of November 13-19 stood at 11.1%. The Times, indeed, says it primarily relies on state data for its New Mexico information.

The number of Pennsylvanians hospitalized with covid-19 has increased more than 215% since the end of October.

Weekly statistics about nursing homes are reported on Tuesdays.
