Apple Shells Out Rs. 30,000 To Make iPhone 12 Pro’s Hardware Components

Fomalhaut Techno Solutions released their report on the bill of materials, in collaboration with Nikkei Asia, (BoM) for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, which provides a close approximation of the component costs of building the two phones.
For comparison, the Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro now start from $799 and $999 in the US.
On the other hand we have the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the largest screen that an iPhone has had according to the company and that reaches nearly 3.5 million pixels of resolution, with a peak of 1200 nits of brightness. The OLED panel that's installed on the iPhone 12 is rather expensive too, as Apple pays $70 for it, while the Bionic chip, which the company is always making a big fuss about it, has an estimated cost of $40. While the report doesn't explicitly say that the iPad Pro range will get 5G mmWave support, Apple traditionally introduces high-end features first in "Pro" range.

The report doesn't stop here but also has an interesting chart. Most iPhone 12 components, 26 percent, came from South Korea. It cites its sources to claim that Apple has been successful in developing its own mmWave AiP modules, and this feat could help the Cupertino giant push the new technology on other products - like the next-gen iPad models.
This is from the BoM of the new iPhone 12 pro by Fomalhaut Techno Solutions. The US followed at 21.9 percent and Japan at 13.6 percent. However, Apple after this large percentage of components from the different region still assembles the majority of its iPhones in China.
