This ends several weeks of rumors: Nvidia announces that the RTX 3060 Ti, the entry-level model of its new generation of RTX 30xx GPUs, will go on sale in France (and elsewhere) from tomorrow! We'll update this section if/when we get confirmation from Nvidia. As a twist of the event, a customer got the RTX 3060 Ti way ahead of the launch. That's good news for United Kingdom, much of Europe and the U.S. at the very least, saving you £60 over the course of the year. It launches tomorrow globally, but we're still awaiting local details. Resellers managed to buy up nearly every RTX 3080 and RTX 3070.
Box has confirmed that it'll be stocking the RTX 3060 Ti, but it has yet to receive word as to when stock will arrive and thus, probably won't be able to sell the GPU at launch.
Whether you are playing traditional PC titles, powering through creator and productivity workflows, or marveling at the latest cutting-edge ray-traced titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Watch Dogs: Legion, and more, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti delivers the best possible experience in its class for everyone, everywhere. Based on the new Ampere architecture, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is faster than the previous generation Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU, according to the company.
You should expect impressive performance from the GPU too, with the company claiming that it outperformed the previous-gen RTX 2080 Super in benchmark tests, a card that costs nearly double that of the 3060 Ti at £689.
Like the RTX 3070, you get 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and the same chip but with a 17% reduction in CUDA cores - 4,864 as opposed to 5,888 in the 3070. The cheapest Ampere GPU we've seen so far, Nvidia says this card will be ideal for 1080p and 1440p gaming, but it should be more than adequate for 4K resolution gaming too, if you're willing to push the settings down a little in the newest titles.
As we can see from the graphs below, the RTX 3060 Ti has approximately the same FPS results as the 2080 Super in Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and Microsoft Flight Simulator at 1440p (the 2-3FPS gain in these titles being within the margin of error for the test).
