The programme, which also stars Reese Witherspoon, deals with the fallout from a high-profile male presenter being accused of sexual harassment, reminiscent of the public fall from grace of Matt Lauer on NBC's Today show in the US.

Emmy victor Julianna Margulies has boarded the cast for the second season of the critically-acclaimed series "The Morning Show".

Julianna Margulies is a Golden Globe victor and a three-time Emmy victor for her work on both "The Good Wife" and "ER". She joins joining regulars Greta Lee and Ruairi O'Connor and guest star comedian Hasan Minhaj. She has won three for her work on critically-acclaimed series "ER" and "The Good Wife".

Aside from Witherspoon and Aniston, season one stars Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Puttman, and Desean Terry are all returning for the next season. She most recently had a recurring role in Season 5 of the Showtime series Billions.

Production on new episodes of "The Morning Show" has commenced in Los Angeles. It also received seven Emmy nominations with Billy Crudup winning Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Cory Ellison.

The show is developed by Kerry Ehrin, who also serves as showrunner.

Apple TV+ said in a press release Wednesday that Margulies, 54, will appear in Season 2 of the drama series.
