'The Voice' contestant Ryan Gallagher abruptly leaves the competition

According to ET, Gallagher broke The Voice's very strict COVID-19 policies, causing the producers to cut him from the show out of caution, and to keep everyone working on the show protected.

Ryan from Kelly Clarkson's team was supposed to join three other artists onstage - Blake Shelton's team member Taryn Papa, John Legend's artist Julia Cooper, and Gwen Stefani's team member Larriah Jackson - to learn the results of their Four-Way Knockout that had taken place last week.

- "The Voice" went live for the first time this season with the top 17 contestants, and while we already knew 16 of those names, the final spot was filled by the victor of the publicly-voted four-way knockout from last week.

"The Voice" contestant Ryan Gallagher was notably absent from the competition on Monday night and now it has emerged why.

"Thanks you everybody for your concern for my family", he shared. However, at the top of the show, Host Carson Daly revealed that one of those four contestants was no longer part of the competition.

Daly did not cite a reason, only stating Gallagher "had to exit the competition".

Gallagher had previously shared that his mother had been hospitalized with COVID-19 and fans were anxious, but the opera singer quickly quashed that concern via Instagram stories as shared by ET Online: "Thanks you everybody for your concern for my family".

Entertainment Tonight has since learned Gallagher violated the show's CoVid-19 protocol, causing his departure. Details are still to come, I'll keep you posted. That was followed by this video. The further details of his exit were not discussed on the show. Just be careful how you get there, all right?
