The Kendall County Health Department reported the death of two more county residents from COVID-19 on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Based on county data, almost 700 of those cases are still considered active infections.
Mason County Public Health reported nine new cases of COVID-19 in the County on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
"Due to the surge in cases and depending on when test results are reported to the local public health authority, cases and close contacts may not hear from local health departments in a timely fashion", Jackson County Public Health warned in a statement.
Under its new system, Public Health has created separate categories for confirmed COVID-19 deaths and suspect COVID-19 deaths.
That means more than 1% of residents in the county tested positive for COVID-19 in that two week period.
If you test positive or are a close contact of a someone who has, Jackson County says it has information to "address some of these obstacles" - directing people to the county's COVID-19 web page.
Los Angeles County reported another 44 deaths on Thursday, for a cumulative total of 7,782 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
Other areas/cities with cases: Coleman (725), Bushnell (447), Webster (140), Lake Panasoffkee (116), Center Hill (78) and Sumterville (71).
Lycoming County has had 2,600 cases (2420 confirmed and 180 probable) 90 new today. That number is still the second-lowest in the state behind only Cameron County.
Herkimer County also reported a fatality on Friday - the 14th to die from the virus since mid-March. There have been 10,918,998 tests performed.
In order for the region to move back to Tier 2 mitigation measures, with no restrictions on retail stores, gyms, casinos, gaming facilities, etc., the region needs to report three consecutive days of the regional positivity of rate less than 12%.
