Top federal prosecutor in MI seeks tips on Capitol mob

U.S. Capitol Police responded to reports of "a suspected pipe bomb with wires" outside the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., around 1 p.m. and 1:15 p.m., respectively, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The pipe bombs were discovered after a mob of demonstrators attacked the Capitol building with the intent of interrupting the certification of the Electoral College voting results.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for any information regarding the pipe bombs that were left at the United States Capitol Building on Wednesday.

Thursday's statement was accompanied by an image of a masked suspect wearing gloves and a hoodie, carrying an object.

The FBI's Washington Field Office released a photo of a person suspected of placing two pipe bombs in Washington, DC on Wednesday.

"The USCP Hazardous Materials Response Team determined that both devices were, in fact, hazardous and could cause great harm to public safety", police said in statement.

The assault by supporters of President Donald Trump forced members of Congress who were in the process of certifying President-elect Joe Biden's victory to evacuate the chambers for several hours.

ABC News then obtained an exclusive photo of the suspected explosive device found outside the RNC, which is located just a couple blocks away from the Capitol.
