Along with this, the Cognitive Processor XR can also analyse sound position in the signal so the sound matches precisely with the picture on the screen.
There's no indication as to how much all of these new TVs will cost, but Sony says that they should be available at some point this spring. While conventional AI can only detect and analyze certain elements of the image individually, such as color, contrast, and detail, the new cognitive processor XR can cross-analyze multiple components simultaneously, just like our brains. By illuminating the OLED screen's entire WRGB spectrum, Sony tells us its new flagship TV is significantly brighter.
The Bravia XR line features Sony's highest-end TVs, and today it announced five new models with a Cognitive Processor XR chip meant to improve image processing. In part due to better cooling, it explained. The two models are 4K OLED TVs with 120Hz refresh rates and Sony's Acoustic Surface Audio+, which uses actuators behind the panel to generate sound that seems to come straight from the TV, rather than conventional drivers built around the edge or in the back. "The A80J 4K OLED ranges from 55" to 77" while the lower tier X90J 4K LED model tops out at 100-inches. Two of the new models that include the 8K LCD and 4K OLED Master series models can also detect ambient light and adjust the color temperature of the TV as per the room's environment. These features are targeted mainly at PC/console gamers, with 4K120+VRR providing smoother, tear-free gameplay, and ALLM allowing for auto-switching into the TV's Game Mode.Sony highlighted new video systems like "XR Motion Clarity" (replaces "X-Motion Clarity") and "XR Upscaling" (a new look-up table for improved upscaling to 4K, according to the company).
To hit a higher peak brightness, the Sony A90J features a new aluminum sheet lamination that essentially acts as a heat sink for the TV.
A80J 4K (OLED): In this series as well, three sizes of TVs can be purchased. Sony's new TV lineup comes equipped with Google TV.
It also has a built-in "Watchlist" in the Google TV interface, which can also be added from Google or the Google App when you search for shows and movies. Following its own footsteps as being among the first TV manufacturers to move to Android TV, Sony is now also set to become among the first TV makers to switch over to Google TV.
