Miya Ponsetto was arrested Thursday night in Ventura County and faces four felony charges in NY related to her alleged assault of a 14-year-old boy.
Ventura County Sheriff's Department spokesman Eric Buschow told the New York York Daily News that Ponsetto was arrested on a warrant out of New York.
She is scheduled to be in court in California this afternoon before being brought back to New York City.
Ponsetto was transferred to NYPD custody shortly after her arrest, during which she resisted, CBS reported.
As for the 14-year-old who she attacked, Keyon Harrold Jr., his father tells us the family is seeking trauma therapy for their son.
While she has no criminal convictions, Ponsetto has three open cases in California, the Manhattan District Attorney's office said.
King tells Ponsetto that she physically attacked the young boy, alleging she did more than simply accuse him of stealing a phone.
"I admit, yes, I could have approached the situation differently - or maybe not yelled at him like that and made him feel. some sort of inferior way and making him feel as if I was, like, hurting his feelings because that's not my intention". On January 7, 2020, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department arrested her in California after a brief auto chase. In the interview with Ponsetto, Gayle King urges Ponsetto to take responsibility for her actions, asking for her side of the story. "I really never meant to hurt him or his father, either". I think there's something sad about her and. the trauma that she put this 14-year-old teenager through.
"The lady in this video assaulted my 14-year-old son and me as we came down from our room in the @arlohotels Arlo Soho to get breakfast", Harrold wrote in the caption of the video.
"Racism is." Ponsetto started saying before trailing off, adding, "How is one girl accusing a guy about a phone a crime?" "The hotel did have my phone".
Gayle gets fed up with this willful blindness and points out 22 years old is "old enough to know better." Ha!
Security video released by city police shows Ponsetto frantically grabbing at the teenager as he tried to get away from her through the hotel's front door.
The Feb. 28 incident at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, during which Ponsetto's mom, Nicole, allegedly pushed and kicked a cop after the allegedly drunken mother and daughter duo were asked to leave, involved a third person, according to the NY criminal complaint. which did not identify the third party. "It is clear that she is emotionally unwell", she said.
Judging from her contentious interview with Gayle King, it looks as if Miya Ponsetto aka SoHo Karen could use some anger management therapy.
