Todd Howard May Have Teased Bethesda's Indiana Jones Game Months Ago

Just a day after the announcement that Lucasfilm Games would begin to exclusively handle all video game adaptations of the Lucasfilm properties, Bethesda took to Twitter to announce that they are developing a new Indiana Jones title with their in-house developer MachineGames!

The new game will have an original story, so there may be hints in the book titles stacked up in the trailer, including a date stamped on a receipt.

The project has very few details right now, but it is described on the Lucasfilm Blog as "The game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer".

Given that MachineGames' parent company is ZeniMax Media, this title could actually be an Xbox exclusive.

The most recent Indiana Jones games were ones in the Lego series. The project is also being made in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, which was announced yesterday.

MachineGames is best known for its work on the Wolfenstein series. "He's beyond excited to work with the award-winning MachineGames team, a flawless fit for Indy". A coffee mug shows the initials "MC" - a possible nod to the fictional Marshall College, where Indy worked in the movies.
