You can find all the details about TCL's 2021 TV lineup here. For those who are unfamiliar with Google TV, it's an evolution of Android TV that brings together movies, shows and live TV and organizes them all based on your personal preferences. This was driven mostly by the popularity of its affordable but dependable Roku TVs, although the company also unveiled Android TVs for the US market a year ago.
TCL had also held an earlier global press event where it espoused its overarching AIXIoT "connection, display, interaction" strategy to "encourage adoption of intelligent lifestyles" with the TV as the hub at the center, said Tiago Abreu, head of TCL's X-Lab Industrial Design Center.
And for 2021, the newest Gen-3 mini-LED backlight technology will be a prime feature in ultra-slim TVs launching later in the year.
As part of a presentation that included the TCL logo embossed on the Rose Bowl stadium in California, TCL revealed that the next step in its mini-LED technology will be called OD Zero, and it will arrive later this year.
After releasing its first TVs with Google's Android TV software last June, at this year's CES the Chinese electronics giant announced that it will be shipping TVs in 2021 that run on the search giant's new Google TV software.
TCL Google TVs will combine TCL's industry-leading display technologies, such as Mini-LED, 8K and QLED, with Google's new entertainment experience, to help users discover and access the content they love in stunning definition on the latest TCL screens more easily than ever before.
In addition, the company announced that all of the models in the 2021 version of its 6-Series TVs will feature 8K resolution. The list includes TCL's 4K Mini LED TV with the model number C825, a 4K QLED TV with model number C725, and a 4K HDR TV with model number P725.
