'Conor and I fixed that and we talked and we got through it. On the next 23rd, at UFC 257, Dustin Poirier will have the dreamed opportunity to exchange forces against the Irishman for the second time in his career.

With the first outing of the week-long, three-event super series less than a week away, only limited tickets are available to attend UFC FIGHT NIGHT: HOLLOWAY vs. KATTAR and UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CHIESA vs. MAGNY on January 16th and 20th, and UFC 257: POIRIER vs. McGREGOR (January 24th).

In taking on Poirier, McGregor is taking steps to reclaim his lightweight belt - which he lost to Khabib in 2018.

Should McGregor triumph, it would be his most significant win for nearly five years and his biggest victory since he stopped Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

"That division is stacked with studs", White told the ESPN MMA reporter Brett Okamoto on Monday.

"No matter what you think of Conor personally, Conor McGregor is not only one of the best in the world, but one of the best to ever do it".

McGregor, who took on Floyd Mayweather in his money-spinning boxing debut in 2017, teased a meeting with legendary Filipino boxer Pacquiao in the Middle East past year and the eight-weight world champion expressed his interest. He doesn't want the fight and it's as simple as that.

"The way this kid is now, mentally, physically and emotionally, this kid is ready to fight", White said. "As a promoter, you always want to see the best guys in the world, but at the same time, when a guy wants to retire, he probably should". And defend that title. "So, many great fights and many great options, and I'm pretty excited about every single one of them".

Now in Abu Dhabi preparing for the fight on January 24, McGregor has flexed his monetary muscles by going on a $NZ4.3m spending spree that included two watches, a customised suit and a brand new Rolls Royce Bentley.

"He looked at me and I was like, 'How much money have you got in your pocket right now this second?'". I like Diego Sanchez a lot and I have a lot of respect for Diego Sanchez.

The UFC president said he was "really upset" with McGregor after their public feud, which Diego Sanchez was dragged into, but has since "fixed" the tension.
