As of 2pm today, 1,949 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 202 were in ICU at 11am.
The Northern Health Region once again saw the majority of the cases, with 70 new cases reported.
There have been 12 new COVID-19-related deaths.
The Military Aid to the Civil Authorities (MACA) agreement will see over 100 medical technicians provide nursing support to a number of local trusts during the current stage of the Covid 19 pandemic - this MACA support is also being provided in other United Kingdom regions.
There have now been 179,324 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland to date.
48 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Louth on Wednesday evening.
Officials said one fatality reported Sunday was removed from the coronavirus death toll: a man in his 30s in the Winnipeg region had died, but not from COVID-19.

In terms of how they plan to proceed, Dr. Joss Reimer, who chairs Manitoba's vaccine implementation task force, said the reduced supply may impact how many first-dose appointments can be booked in the near future.
A total of 1,306 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the Island Health region since the pandemic began.
