First, some background: Ever since it was released in early January, fans have been convinced that Rodrigo's debut single, "drivers license", is about her High School Musical: The Musial co-star Joshua Bassett, who she appears to have previously dated, and fellow Disney star Carpenter, who many believe is now dating Bassett.

It's important to note, Sabrina is not only blonde, but she's also four years older than Olivia. Their relationship reportedly blossomed while playing mutual love interests in the series. After posting the most streams in a single week last week, Olivia notched up the second-biggest recorded tally today with 1.84 million. At the time, fans speculated the single was a response to the drama brewing between her ex and his new fling.

However, not everyone is relishing in the puerile gossip.

Carpenter ends the track with another clever reference, singing, "I just hope that one day/ We can both caught about it ..."

The rumors are apparently paying off for everyone, with Carpenter's "Skin" now climbing Apple Music's Top 10 Pop Chart. Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter are locked in the best clash since Chip and Stormzy.
