And then in the first take, Robert Downey Jr. completely changed the scene.
From talking about Cherry and Judas and the Black Messiah to their other breakout roles, both Holland and Kaluuya have this air of disbelief about their careers and the stories they get to tell, and it's wonderful to see!
Far From Home saw Peter (Tom Holland) and his pals head to Europe for a school trip, the third film in the franchise appears to bring the gang back to NY just in time for Christmas.
Holland was speaking to fellow MCU actor Daniel Kaluuya as part of Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, and the Peter Parker actor recalled the gruelling seven-month audition process that involved six auditions. He then added that he flew to Atlanta (along with 6 other kids) for a screen test with Robert Downey Jr. The Spider-Man actor was happy with the audition and called his mother and told her that he believes he got the role. I was telling my family, 'I got the part!
Tom continued: 'It was all about preparation, and really setting out the character beats and figuring out how I was going to get from A to B in each section.
Holland continues: "I got my computer, and my dog was sitting next to me", he says. My agents had told me that Marvel likes you to learn the words exactly and that you can't improvise and you can't do anything like that.
This article is going to be focused on Tom Holland, who once thought that he is going to get fired from the MCU. He fell next to my bed and my dog went insane.
Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man 3 will release in theaters on December 17.
During a chat for Variety's Actors on Actors, he revealed he found out he got the part through online press.
The rest is history, as the actor went on to portray Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
"Then they called us back, and we had to do a fight with Chris Evans", he shared. "I got the part!'"
The star said his brother was anxious that the article was fake as it was around the time of the Sony hack, but then the studio called Holland and gave him the news.
Tom Holland is dishing on how he found about being cast as the next Spider-Man! "It was so freaky how it happened", he said.
"I don't know why", he admitted. Civil War wasn't out yet, and he didn't hear from any one of the studios, and he quoted that he can't explain the feeling.
"It's been insane, mate". Kaluuya did bring up Spider-Man, calling it the "elephant in the room", and Tom Holland started to talk about the audition process for Marvel. "I've loved every minute of it", he said.
