Deshaun Watson to Be Traded to Jets or Dolphins

This is starting to get interesting. Watson apparently valued Saleh so much that he wanted the Texans to interview him for their open head coaching job.

A source told ESPN's Sarah Barshop last week that the Texans have had internal conversations about possible trade partners and what their quarterback position would look like in the future without Watson.

And yes, buzz is building for aTexans-Jets deal.

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly the other preferred trade destination for Watson. Watson confirmed reports, circulated for several weeks in national media, he'd also welcome playing for the Dolphins but said that is his second choice at this time.

And when it comes to the Deshaun Watson saga, the evolution of what appears to be a hazy situation might be getting some clarity. This is notable because if there ends up being a proverbial arms race with draft picks for Watson's services, the ante will be raised by two rivals fighting for him with the loser knowing they will have to gameplan against him twice a year.

Trading for Watson won't be easy. "His no trade clause makes this very important", he reported. But one thing to keep in mind: According to Spotrac, Watson will earn a base salary of $10.5 million in 2021, while carrying a cap hit of $15.9 million.

What fussed-up team would ever trade a Top 5 QB entering the prime of his career, who is locked up through 2025 under a team-bargain contract to boot?

The three-time Pro Bowler recently liked an Instagram post suggesting NY should trade for him.
