Province reports seven confirmed cases and 25 presumptive cases of COVID-19

The highest number of new cases in the past seven days was in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon council area with 405, with 371 in Belfast and 310 in Mid Ulster.

While COVID-19 cases have been trending downwards, the last four days have shown an uptick in transmission, particularly in the Fraser Health region. The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people. The figure of 144.8 remains below the national rate of 269.3. The median age of those who died was 81 years and the age range was 42-105 years.

The Island Health region has now seen 2,009 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

As of midnight, the HPSC has been notified of 744 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Of the long weekend cases, 452 were confirmed between Friday and Saturday. Some 68% of these people are aged under 45, with the average age being 31.

The province said 28,432 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 1,625 people still have active cases.

301 cases are in Dublin, 77 are in Galway, 37 are in Waterford, 36 are in Offaly, 32 are in Kildare and the remaining 261 cases are spread across all other counties.

There are now 4,189 active cases of COVID-19, including 231 people who are in hospital, of whom 74 are in intensive care. 51 additional hospitalisations have occurred in the past 24 hours.

As of 13 February, 268,551 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland. Of these, 176,926 people have received their first dose, with a further 91,625 people reaching their second dose.
