THERE are 49 new cases of Covid-19 in Limerick, it has been confirmed this Thursday evening.

The total of those under active public health surveillance due to direct COVID-19 is at 7,238.

Forty-four of these deaths occurred in February, two occurred in January and one in December.

Officials are also reporting 800 new COVID-19 cases, but a drop of five patients in hospital, for a total of 766.

Clare's incidence rate of 142.2 per 100,000 people is the fourth lowest in the country.

Quebec health officials say there weren't any COVID-19-related deaths reported across the province in the past 24 hours. It's the 15th straight day the county's new case count was in double digits.

The positivity rate of diagnostic testing - a key measure of viral spread in Minnesota - has dropped below the 5% caution threshold to 3.7%.

"It indicates to us that the levels we are at in the community are still of a concern... the virus is still transmitting at a very risky level across the community", he said.

To date, just over 176000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 26,030 of which are second doses.

Mr Reid said the news was cause for "good hope".

Mr Reid said nearly 110,000 jabs will be administered between Monday and Sunday next week.

So far in February, the state has reported 52 covid-related deaths in the county. An additional 342 cases were confirmed. Sixty-three of those were in intensive care.
