A cluster of tornadoes swept through the southern USA state of Alabama. "Tragically, we are receiving reports of loss of life". More fatalities are expected as the search and rescue efforts continue in the area, according to local officials. Unfortunately, the day is not over yet. Several long-track strong tornadoes, destructive winds and large hail are forecasted.

Those areas have a level 5 out of 5 "high risk" of severe thunderstorms, with the potential to yield damaging winds up to 80 miles per hour.
The risk remained in place Thursday evening, authorities said around 4 p.m.
In addition to the severe weather, a flash flood watch Thursday covered northern parts of Alabama and Georgia and portions of Tennessee and western North Carolina.
Alabama Power reports at least 14,000 customers are without electricity now in the Birmingham area.
According to the weather service, Centreville and Brent also remain in the path of this unsafe storm.
