In the hair-raising video, the huge brown bear was seen swiping at one of the family's dogs, who ran back after receiving a particularly hard blow.
A teen's mission to save her dogs from a bear in her garden has gone viral on TikTok, after CCTV footage captured her casually shoving the ursine creature away with her own hands.
Many people tend to think of their pets as family members, which is why terms like "fur babies" are commonly used to describe our dogs and cats.
'She's a insane courageous 17 year old!'
The video is a surveillance footage and it filmed on Memorial Day, the incident took place in US California. The netizens are divided as they alternatively call the teen heroic and also side with the poor animal who was just trying to protect its cubs from the dogs. Fortunately, a quick-thinking woman ran up to the large bear and pushed it off of the fence, giving the dogs the time to get away safely.
In a follow-up video posted to TikTok, Hailey explained what was going through their head in the moment.
She then looks around the garden to make sure all her dogs are fine, before grabbing the smallest pooch and rushing back indoors.
In the video, which has now been viewed over 50 million times, the dogs are seen scurrying around the outside of Hailey's home. "But I go to tell them to stop, and when I go over there to see what they're barking at, I'm like, 'That's a funny-looking dog'".
Others felt a bit bad for the bear and hoped it wasn't injured after falling off the wall.
"She shoved that bear like it was a stuffed animal", someone said on TikTok.
"Honestly, the only thing I had in mind was to protect my dogs", said Ms Morinico.
The video attracted thousands of comments, with some people praising the woman while others pointing out that the bear was just trying to defend its babies.
Hailey added she had sprained her finger and "screwed" her knee, but apart from that she is all good.
