There was understandable rustiness to the 23-year-old's performance in the derby, with a first-half header steered wide and Nacho Monreal suffocating an attempt at the far post after the break, but the converted penalty means Kane has now scored in three successive Premier League appearances.
"The players who are offside (Sanchez and Shkodran Mustafi) don't go for the ball, they just keep moving forward". We did that and I think it paid off.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisted Tottenham's formation did not unsettle his players.
Wenger wants his side to continue to push on, saying: "We have been very consistent until now so, even if we are frustrated now, let's try to transform that into positive energy when the Premier League restarts".
Arsenal had taken the lead through an own goal by Kevin Wimmer in the first half but struggled to create clear-cut chances after Spurs' equaliser. "But it was great to see him back and scoring and with a smile on his face at the end of the game". "I'm in the team to score goals", he said.
"It was an important goal to get us back in the game and we could even have sneaked a victor at the end when Christian hit the post".
"It's good. I got fit, I made sure I stayed healthy".
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was critical of Clattenburg after the game, arguing that Spurs midfielder Victor Wanyama should have been sent off. "It was a very competitive game".
While Spurs remain unbeaten in the league, Arsenal have not lost in all competitions since their opening weekend defeat at home to league leaders Liverpool.
Hackett, though, said Clattenburg "had a fantastic game" and that his penalty decision was "spot on", adding: "There was clear contact from Laurent Koscielny on Mousa Dembele and it was a good decision at a critical time in the game".
"We tried to play thinking about the opposite goal, with our full-backs higher, and with more strikers to try to win the game".
After lasting 75 minutes before making way for Vincent Janssen, he admitted: "It's been a tough spell sitting it out and watching the team so I was delighted to get back out there and get some minutes under my belt".
