Todd Fisher said Reynold's children were the core of her life. She didn't die of a broken heart.
The medical emergency came just one day after the death of her daughter, actress and author Carrie Fisher.
Bozzi, who is married to Fisher's ex-partner Bryan Lourd, posted a photo of Lourd, 24, with Fisher and Reynolds at her university graduation ceremony.
Reynolds issued a public statement Tuesday about the death of her daughter, writing on Facebook that she wanted to thank everyone "who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and fantastic daughter".
"Remarkably enough, the documentary is the greatest tribute you can imagine to both of them", Todd said.
Debbie died on Wednesday aged 84, just a day after her actress daughter Carrie, 60, passed away. We're going to joint service for them, that's how she would have wanted.
"That's the way it was meant to be", Mr Fisher, 58, said, recalling that his mother, the Oscar-nominated singer and actress, had a special fondness for hummingbirds, which were regular visitors to the grounds of her Beverly Hills home. Fisher's autobiographical writing became a form of therapy, and she spoke generously of her mother's struggles as a famous parent.
Before suffering a stroke, a grieving Reynolds was planning Carrie Fisher's funeral with Todd Fisher, when she reportedly turned to her son and said, "I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie".
Todd Fisher did not reveal when the funeral will take place but added that it would be private.
He also confirmed to the New York Daily News the family wants a joint service which will honour the bond between mother and daughter. "She broke her leg once while onstage and went back on and sang 'Tammy.' She's this awesome creature, y'know?"
