South Korean giant LG has launched LG X venture smartphone which boasts of maximum durability, high-capacity battery and outdoor activity features and is ideally suitable for every occasion and adventure. The name says it all.
It's exclusive to AT&T in the United States, but will also be sold internationally. This handset is designed for "active lifestyles" and others who require a rugged phone capable of withstanding demanding use. It has a metal frame and a textured back to keep the gripping strong and the body intact in the event of a fall. This phone was immersed in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes and passed with flying colors as further claimed by LG. These features include a flashlight, a barometer, an exercise tracker, a compass, weather report, and activity tracker.
The X Venture features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) LCD display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 435, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, a 4100mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat sitting behind LG's in-house software overlay.
The X Venture sure sounds a lot like Samsung's Active line, though it'll be much cheaper.
Coming to AT&T in the USA starting May 26, and to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America in the weeks that follow, this phone looks to bring solid performance and protection both against theft with its fingerprint sensor and against the elements with its IP68 rating. There's the QuickButton, too, on the left side of the X Venture. There's also a Glove Mode that can be toggled on and off - if you're using your phone in the cold, you can make your phone recognize screen taps and gestures from your gloved hands. Called LG X venture, the new handset will be available in the U.S. later this week as an AT&T-exclusive product.
