Daniel Joseph Silva was arrested on a murder charge in the Sunday night crash of a 2020 McLaren 600LT, which was speeding before it crashed into a stop sign and tree, the Los Angeles Police Department said Monday.
On Sunday La Barrie and Silva were both driving around in a McLaren sports vehicle on La Barrie's birthday in Los Angeles when they crashed into a street sign and a tree.
Police say Silva got out of the vehicle and tried to leave the scene of the accident but was stopped by bystanders who came to render aid.
The police statement characterized the crash as a DUI fatal traffic collision, but the statement announcing the arrest did not detail allegations involving alcohol.
