"His verbal abuse escalated into physical abuse, during which LaBeouf became increasingly violent towards Tahliah".
The 34-year-old was seen on his daily morning jog, three days after ex-girlfriend FKA twigs filed a lawsuit against him for "relentless abuse", including sexual assault and battery during their relationship in 2019.
Barnett has asserted that any financial compensation she receives as a result of the lawsuit will be donated to domestic violence charities.
In a statement to E!
FKA twigs recently detailed a disturbing cycle of alleged abuse from Shia LaBeouf, including him threatening to crash the auto they were travelling in unless she professed her love for him, and knowingly giving her a sexual transmitted disease. "Since he was unwilling to agree to get appropriate help, Ms. Barnett filed this suit to prevent others from unknowingly suffering similar abuse by him".
FKA twigs told The New York Times, 'What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I've ever been through in the whole of my life'.
Barnett is not the only LaBeouf ex included in the lawsuit.
He said: 'I'm not in any position to tell anyone how my behaviour made them feel.
He also acknowledged that: "I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations".
The lawsuit claims that he physically, emotionally and mentally abused her many times in a relationship that lasted less than a year. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. "As someone in recovery, I have to face nearly daily reminders of things I did say and do when I was drinking", he said.
In a separate email to the publication, the Disney Channel alum claimed "many of these allegations are not true". "But I think that's the thing". LaBeouf remarked that he was "a sober member of a 12-step program" and partakes in therapy.
"I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way", he says.
FKA twigs posted about the lawsuit in a statement on Instagram.
In the caption, she revealed, 'I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia'. "This is very courageous and I'm very proud of you", Sia wrote. "We need to support each other". She was then in a relationship with J.D.
"He brought me so low, below myself, that the idea of leaving him and having to work myself back up just seemed impossible", twigs told the New York Times. "I don't think people would ever think that it would happen to me. It can happen to anybody".
