Morgan drew more than 40,000 complaints after saying he didn't "believe a word" of Markle's claims of Royal Family racism and bullying in an interview Sunday alongside husband Prince Harry. She talked about feeling lonely and how the constant tabloid criticism led toward suicidal thoughts.
Well, well, well. Piers Morgan may like to come across as a self-appointed "snowflake slayer", but the moody TV host has only humiliated himself even further this week - and yes, it's to do with his Meghan obsession.
"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members", the statement concluded. Though the duchess has never publicly commented on Morgan, the 55-year-old has nearly been fixated on the duchess in the past five years.
In the past, Morgan has spoken about having drinks with Meghan while she visited London.
It was at this point of the segment that Beresford became more pointed.
Morgan, a longtime critic of Markle, denounced her in particular for accusing an anonymous Royal of racist discussions about her son.
"I think for a young couple who wanted to get away from it all, they're still talking about it and selling their story", he said. It's not for me to question if she felt suicidal.
Amid the Sussexes' interview with Oprah, Morgan has ranted and raved about Meghan non-stop.
On Tuesday, Morgan stormed off set during a spat with a co-host about his treatment of the Duchess.
"Meghan was once party to the secretive operation of the monarchy; but now she is firmly on the outside, and I think her phrase is suggestive of how she and Harry have been cut off and excluded", he revealed to O magazine. She said it was hard for her to "compartmentalize" those conversations.
Harry said the royal family cut him off financially at the start of 2020 after announcing plans to step back from his roles.
Morgan lept into a tirade following Beresford's remarks. Sorry. See you later. When we were told by the comms team this is a story that's going to be coming out-which, by the way, the tabloids had apparently known for a month or so and chose to hold until the Sunday before our wedding because they wanted to create drama, which is a really key point in all of this: "They don't report the news, they create the news-we called my dad and we asked him, and he said, 'No, absolutely not'".
