Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was pictured alongside Jaishankar on Monday, has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The question now is what kind of contact did Indian officials have with others, including at a dinner on Tuesday night. India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is attending a G7 gathering virtually on Wednesday.
Britain's Foreign Office, which organized the meeting, did not immediately confirm whether any delegates had tested positive.

India, now undergoing the world's worst surge in Covid-19 cases, is attending the G7 as a guest and had been due to take part in meetings on Tuesday evening and throughout Wednesday.
He also wrote that he made a decision to conduct his engagements in the virtual mode "as a measure of abundant caution and also out of consideration for others".
Although the Indian delegation has not yet attended the G7 meeting of foreign ministers at Lancaster House in London, it did meet with its USA counterparts on Monday. "That will be the case with the G7 meeting today as well".
India, Australia, South Korea and South Africa have been invited as guests as the United Kingdom tries to deepen ties with the Indo-Pacific region.

On Tuesday, Home Secretary Ms Patel met Mr Jaishankar and tweeted a picture of them wearing masks as they handled folders, saying it was "a pleasure" to welcome him as new trade and investment deals were signed with India.
Jaishankar also held discussions with South African Foreign Minister Dr Naledi Pandor, with a focus on working together on fighting the COVID pandemic, economic recovery and Commonwealth issues.
"[He] will now attend virtually, but this is exactly why we have put in place strict Covid protocols and daily testing", the diplomat added.
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the UK as well as the European Union are among the G7 members. According to reports, more than 35 litres of hand sanitiser in G7-branded bottles were to be provided for the premises.
The meeting is a precursor to the main G7 summit due to take place at a rural English resort in June, with US President Joe Biden and other world leaders set to attend.
